Papa, the Pool Boy and His Puppy

This is why I love Texas. It is just nearing the end of March and we are gearing up the pool to be swimming soon! It is still snowing in parts of the country! My dad's pool is his baby and since we just happen to live next door, we enjoy that baby often! Of course, there's a certain little grandson of his who enjoys helping! 70 degrees and sunny makes for a perfect afternoon of pool cleaning!

There is a gate that separates our yard from the pool, so this was the first glimpse the puppy had at what she seemed to think was a large drinking bowl! The water was too low for her to reach, but she would have been deterred rather quickly as the we have a salt filtration system and it tastes like the ocean! For whatever reason though, our other two dogs drink it all summer long when we're taking a swim! Eeew!

So here they are. Papa, the pool boy and his puppy.

And after all that hard work, this pool boy deserves a little dip of the feet into the cool water!

Check out that red hair!

And just because I know no one is against pictures of the cutest puppy in the world (besides my brother's puppy of course!), here are some new pics of Shiloh, now 7 lbs up from only 3 when we first brought her home! Doing well and enjoying being outside in this nice weather!

Looks like a show dog to me!!

And in case you're wondering, little Miss Zoey was sound asleep during this particular outing. You'd know if she were out there because there would be a lot less pics and a lot more of me holding her back from jumping in the pool! We usually only let her near the pool if we're actually going swimming, otherwise, she will try and jump in! The girl has no fear!

Spending Time with Family!

A few weeks ago, we had the chance to go and meet my newest neice, Amelia. We just couldn't stay away for long, so the kids and I headed back to my brother's house this past weekend to see her again and help celebrate her big sister's birthday. I loved that Zoey was all over baby Amelia and didn't want to put her down!

Big sister Emma and Braedan lovin' on baby Amelia!

Look how adorable she is!

We even had time to make TV Dinner cupcakes...drumsticks with a side of peas and carrots and mashed potatoes with butter and gravy!

And of course, time to jump on the trampoline! Something Zoey is not so fond of, hence the reason she is nowhere to be seen in this picture!

There was even time to help celebrate Emma's birthday! See the drool coming out of Zoey's mouth?!?! She refused to eat this cupcake till we prayed first (you can see her putting her hands together in this picture!), then she dug right in!

And even Shiloh had a blast with Emma's birthday present...a basset hound puppy she named Annie!

Annie is quite a bit bigger than Shiloh (shall we say line backer to quarter back!) but she held her own and even slept outside with her in her dog house! Not something Shiloh would even consider at our house!

I have really been lame on my blog posts lately and am so trying harder to document more of our life as it happens so we'll have this way of remembering it forever and be able to share it all with you! My new goal is to at least get three posts up a week, even though I'm now also heading back to work as a realtor soon! Let's just say it's a late New Year's Resolution! :)

Wordless Wednesday {Then and Now}

Ok, so a few words to explain. :)

This picture comes from this post back in May!

This dress is a size nine months! Which proves just how petite my little gal is! Growing up, just not out! And look at that hair! My hubby mentioned that he wondered how long it would be if she had never had that haircut last January before she came home...

Thanks for the dress Uncle Dave and Aunt Staci, we are clearly getting lots of use out of it!

This is why...

my blog has been so sporatic lately. Yes, sporatic. You may only recognize that word if you've seen the movie CLUELESS, but I'm pretty sure it's a real word. :) My hands have been working hard!

Drum roll please...

lots of announcements today!

First, Happy TEN months home and NINETEEN months old Miss Zoey! I'll give you all the "low down" on her tomorrow, just wanted to give her a little shout out today! :)

Second, the puppies name is...SHILOH! Thanks for all the help deciding here and on Facebook too! I personally liked Stella slightly better, but got out voted in the final say tonight. :( Hubby voted Shiloh, Braedan voted Shiloh, I voted Stella and we went to Zoey to see if we would have a tie! She said, clear as day, "SHILOH!" So I got out voted three to one! Hopefully that trend doesn't continue!

I must say that she is the sweetest, easiest puppy! Not ONE potty accident in the house! Crazy! She goes on command each and every time I take her outside! I'm convinced she's just cold or hot (in Texas, that changes from minute to minute you know!) so she goes right away to get back inside! She'll wake up, eat and drink a little, play with the kids and I for about an hour or so, then plop down on her bottom and cry when she's tired. I set her in her laundry basket with a blanket and stuffed animal and she goes right to sleep! She sleeps about an hour or so and then gets up and starts the same thing all over again! Sweet, sweet puppy and oh so cute! She slept through the night last night in her crate and went potty in the corner on her puppy pad, so easy clean up for me in the morning! The kids just adore her and we have to watch Zoey so she doesn't squeeze her to death! She goes in for her first puppy checkup tomorrow and probably a few shots.

A family of SIX suits us well! (Including our 10 year old Beagle, Basset Hound, Border Collie that is still less than impressed with this new little "thing"!)
